That's not a compatible format. You're going to have to reformat the USB stick to FAT16, FAT32 or HFS+ (page 5 of the manual).
i ran into e-8306 problems consistently while using numerous USB sticks with Rekordbox 4.0.8 analyzed playlists. XDJ-1000 (v1.05) would read fine in the beginning, after playing the songs will stop ( won't read the usb stick at all) and sometimes pop out E-8306 errors.
USB sticks formatted to MS-DOS Master Reboot accordingly via Mac OS Yosemite
However, if I only use drag files from iTunes or anywhere into the USB stick then everything works fine.
does anyone what the problem may be?

I did read that actually. I believe MS-DOS is FAT32
Strange enough, the same USB sticks work perfectly on the new CDJ-2000 NXS2 with v1.1 firmware update.
