HOT CUES STARTING A BAR EARLY WHEN TRIGGERED ON a CDJ 2000 (not NEXUS)

HI guys,

This happened for the first time last night, plugged in the USB, started the track, pressed the recall button, the two HOT Cues I had set in Rekordbox light up (A and C), when I pressed A there was a pause and then the beat started a full bar after I pressed the button - did this with two more tracks and same problem each time - so I just played with no Hot Cues for night and had to cue up manually.

Has this happened to anyone else?

PULSE> How do I debug this?

I would first try re-exporting your tracks to the USB drive, it could have been a glitch with the export database.

Pulse isn't that normal? On the 2000 when you first call up a hot cue it takes a second before it kicks in and is usable

to clarify yeh when I first loaded it up the hot buttons are on and ready to go, then press them, I guess within a few seconds of the lights being on ..........then there is a delay and the music start, however, when I press it a second time after having hear music start on a delay already, there is the same delay once again, I would assume once the music has started playing (albeit on a delay) the first time then when I press it a second time there shouldnt be a delay, right? However, there was a delay the second time so I am trying to make sense of this....

I guess what you might be suggesting BriChi.... is that i should wait a while, maybe say 5+ seconds before the hot cues are truly loaded?

(if so...thats simple, I grab a drink and have a sip ;) )

On my XDJ-1000 when calling the Hot Cues they are blinking until I press them the first time. When pressing the first time it will take a moment before the Hot Cue kicks in. It will be out of sync. With the second press it all works fine.

Guess even that the Hot Cue is called it is not finally loaded. The first press would complete the loading which takes some time.

I think this is normal behaviour but it would be great if the Hot Cue could be fully loaded when calling it.

Thanks Frank, I'll I try that next time too on the CDJ 2000.

At the same time if that is truly the case then:

1. doesn't Pioneer need to change the manual for both CDJ 100 and 2000 as the manual suggest that the track plays immediately....(ie not additional step in the middle) hence my query.; or

2. If it is supposed to work as per the manual then how do I fix this? The unusual part of this equation is that when I played at this venue before on the same decks it didn't happen at all thew whole night, the Hot Cues played straight off the bat after I pressed the recall button with no delay......so there may be something in the settings on the CDJ? or this is an erratic thing that requires a willingness to gamble on the night? not professional but at least if I know I am at risk then I can live with it........I'm new to this, as I am historically a vinly DJ, so I would prefer to know exaclty how it should work and then make it work as such and at least know there is an unstable condition which I have to prepare for and overcome with back up plans.....

the 2000's never played instantly after ONLY hitting the recall button, you had to hit the hot cue too to load which takes a second THEN they are instant. you might be confused on how the 2000's work or I'm confused on what you're saying

the 2000's to not auto load hot cues like the nexus' so on the 2000's you would have to load a track, hold the call button, the ABC light blink based on what cues are set then you press them each to load, it will take a second or 2 to load each one as you press them and then they become instant hot cues.
