rekordbox won´t update to latest version (Mac)

Hello rekordbox team!

I am currently using rekordbox 4.1.2 and I want to update it to the newer version (4.2.0 I think?) However, every time I try to update my rekordbox using the assistant (pop-up), it installs the newer version but after opening it it still remains the older one, stating that I need to update rekordbox to ver. 4.2.0 again.

So it seems that the new installer fails to overwrite the older installation of rekordbox, even manually. Am I missing something out? I am on the latest El Capitan BTW.

I hope you can help me.

Hey Konrad,

Not sure if it helps, but it might be worth just downloading the new 4.2.0b installer from the Rekordbox site directly and trying the install. At least on Windows, Pioneer seems to have directed people to the website to get the latest version and are not auto updating this release.

Hi,

as I stated above I already tried to download and install rekordbox manually (by downloading their newest installer on their page) but after installation it still remains the older version (4.1.2). So I think that either the installer fails to overwrite the old installation or it does not create a shortcut to the newer one.

Exactly the same problem here on a mac

Seems like it just keeps installing older 4.2.0 version of rekordbox

not the 4.2.0b version trying to install.

that pop up is getting really annoying now.

do you think that someone at Pioneer got lazy and renamed the v4.2.0 zip with v4.2.0b, slack, very slack, come on Pioneer sort it out

Yes, using three different versions with the same name is rediculous. Who runs their software division? 4.2.0 was the original buggy version, then 4.2.0b was the fix (but same file name). Now it's back to 4.2.0 (but with new fixes). WTF
