Hey guys I just bought this controller and everytime I pull up rekordbox it's telling me my ddj is disconnected it just keeps flashing that message, I've done all the resets uninstalled the driver multiple times just keeps giving me that message everytime I pull it up in the audio preferences the ddj-rb Asio driver is selected so I don't know what the issue is, I'm running Windows 10 on a surface 3 Could it be my anti virus software blocking the connection idk. Please help!! I want to start mixing already!!

I know sometimes a firewall will get in the way, so check that issue.  But have you tried a different USB cable, and what version of Rekordbox are you using?

Hey jay I'm using the latest version of rekordbox, and if it is a firewall issue how would I look about resolving it?

Same. Literally tried everything, it's crazy that there's no support for this problem, I just bought the thing and it is unusable with its software

@Stephen > Further illustrating that the issue is with the Surface 3, and not the controller.

With the RB connected, open the Setting Utility and see if the firmware version is shown. This is what you'll see if the RB is not connected:

If the unit is connected but not showing a firmware version, please open the device manager (or, the device manager within the computer manager, as shown):

You should be able to locate the DDJ-RB below the Sound, video and game controllers listing.

If it is NOT listed, there is a chance the USB port you're using does not provide adequate power to the DDJ-RB. Try another port, and if that still fails, you may need to purchase a dual-A-to-B USB cable:

For what it's worth, the Surface 3 has an Intel Atom processor which does not meet the minimum specifications for most DJ software, never mind rekordbox, which requires at least a Core2 Duo @ 2.0GHz.

Hi, I am having the same problem. Today I received my DDJ-RB and after installing rekordbox and the RB drivers I opened rekordbox with RB connected and that's the message i am getting all the time... I am desperate I don't know what to do.

If it helps I am running 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium

CPU: AMD Phenom N830 Triple Core 2.10 GHz

RAM: 6 GB

@Fillip > For starters, the AMD processor is not supported; we can't guarantee the performance or stability of rekordbox on an AMD-based system.

As for the driver issue, please follow the steps below to reinstall the ASIO driver, but before you do, ensure that Windows has ALL the latest updates from Microsoft using the system update utility.

1. Disconnect the DDJ-RB from your computer.
2. Close rekordbox DJ.
3. Open the Control Panel and uninstall DDJ-RB driver from "Programs and Features".
4. Reboot Windows.
5. Install the DDJ-RB driver again.
6. Connect the DDJ-RB to your PC.
7. Launch rekordbox DJ.

* Please note: Do not install the driver while rekordbox DJ is running. If you do so, you will have issues in driver update.

@Pulse > Hi, thank you for your help. Rekordbox itself is working just fine on my laptop even tho it's AMD based, but when controller is pluged in I'm getting that message at the bottom of the screen. I will try to give it one more try with reinstalling

ASIO driver and will notify you how it turned up.

Our drivers are digitally signed - you receiving that error message tells me you haven't updated Windows recently.

@Pulse > I got all the Windows updates, I tried reinstalling ASIO driver still getting same message, that is DDJ is not connected. I really don't know what to do anymore... And if try swithcing Audio Driver to DDJ-RB ASIO it sais "Error while openning" as it probably doesn't help but just in case. I was even thinking installing Windows 10 and then try but really doubt it's gonna mean anything.

And this is what it looks like in Device manager

@Fillip > Do you have SP1 installed?

  1. Click the Start button , right-click Computer, and then click Properties.
  2. The basic information about your computer page will open.
  3. If Service Pack 1 is listed under Windows edition, SP1 would be already installed on your computer.

@Pulse > I just checked it and yes I do have Service Pack 1 installed. Also I managed to solve the problem partialy by updating my windows reinstalling rekordbox and DDJ-RB driver but when I plug it it device driver fails to install but somehow it works in rekordbox even tho I can't choose DDJ-RB ASIO and therefore I can't hear anything in headphones when headphones are plugged in RB, it also sais "Error while opening" any idea what it might be? I tried reinstalling driver but it seems not to work.

@Ronie > Try using a different USB port on your computer or a different cable. It's possible the RB isn't getting adequate power from the USB chipset and thus disconnects.

@Filip > I had this issue and resolved it by changing the sample/bit rate of the internal sound card of the computer in the audio preferences (advanced tab). I set it to 44.1kHZ/16bit and then presto, sound!

I have the same problem. Tried to change to other USB port but still persist. All drivers installed without any error in Device Manager.  Firmware detected in Setup Utility. Been tried to reinstall the Rekordbox, but its not working.

Update: After reformat the laptop with latest Service Pack, performed reinstallation, everything were running okay. Thank you.
