no you shouldn't, it hasn't been added

FollowHID and Waveform
When using rekordbox in performance mode connected via USB HID, should I be able to see the full waveform on the CDJs? I can see the small full track waveform at the bottom of the screen but not the the bigger one in the middle of the display on the CDJs.
Thank you

Ah pants! everything is pointing towards not using HID with these decks/mixer. massive waste of money there.
because the decks are more designed to be used with flash drives and Rekordbox, buying them to use as HID mode is silly when a much cheaper controller like a RZ/RX can do more then what the cdi's are doing for you in HID/performance mode
Yeah I guess i should have gone for a controller.
I'm happy using the pro-link, its just not being able to use the sampler that is annoying.
I take it there is no way of using the LAN way with a sampler? it just seems bizarre having that feature on rekorbox but not being able to use it with pro-link.
not now but i suppose they could add it and you could use the headphone out into a 3rd channel to use it
Headphones?
yeah, use your 1/8th jack out from laptop to a 3rd channel or aux in on mixer,
or if the mixer has a USB port to route sound that way,
The built-in sampler in rekordbox is only active when I use "performance" mode, which is HID. "Export" mode is where the LAN works, that has no sampler there.
It all seems very backwards and bizarre if im honest, why would performance mode not work on LAN connections, why would it only work on export mode (which was deiswnged to basically organise library and export tunes to USB drives)? unless i'm missing something!
The Link function enables the devices to communicate with one another (i.e. quanitze/grid data, music library, etc.) without a computer. You can do the exact same thing with an external hard drive connected to your setup that you do when having your computer connected to your setup using Link/Export.
Performance is just that, a performance mode that requires the devices (XDJ, CDJ, etc.) to be used as controllers (HID). Communication is handled between the devices and the computer via USB. The biggest difference is that it requires a computer to be connected to your DJ setup, the computer acts as the "host," taking care of playing the song and responding the to the MIDI messages being sent from your controllers. Since all of this data is traveling via USB from computer to device, that's a ton of data traveling back and forth. The bandwidth/transfer speed of CAT5/LAN is far greater than USB, hence, why it can send wave form data. Trying to include wave form data along with all of the other data being piped to and from controllers/computer would certainly create some problems.
To the best of my knowledge, there are no devices that display full-size animated waveform feedback when used in a HID-based DJ setup (i.e. Rekordbox DJ).
Shouldn't the link function then have more options available? Or performance mode should be doable through LAN?
My point is pioneer have gone out of their way to create pro link and create rekordbox DJ but have made the features somewhat limited. Either way you use it (export or performance) you're limited.
I know it's late and not sure when it was added but you get the full experience waveform experience now, if you didn't know already, cheers!
