DJM 900NXS2 paint finish

@ Pulse,  could you tell me if there has been any issues with the 900NXS2 with regard to the face plate paint finish,  its just the paint seems really thin and chips easily.

I have had this mixer for 3-4 months and its already got a couple chips on it.

considering as its a club standard mixer that's meant for club install, mine has had minimum use and compared to my original 900 which i had for 4 years and it has less makes then and the new one.

just wondering if this is something others have picked up and is this something covered by warranty?

Many Thanks

simon

I understand you want something like this to look pristine and last a long time, I'm just saying the edges are more susceptible to that kind of chipping because of where it's located.

If you experience this issue, please contact your regional Pioneer DJ technical support with your serial number and they will be able to assist you in resolving this issue.

HI Pulse.  here some photos, the chip on the side got knocked once with a headphone jack when changing headphones and the paint just flaked off and i have started to notice bits flaking off by the screw heads. all as per the photos.

many thanks

If anything, the chip from the edge was likely caused by something equally tough, and as it's at the edge, I wouldn't be terribly concerned. The paint surrounding the screws could simply be on a different material. Have you removed those screws?

Hi Pulse. the chip was done by a dj who knocked a headphone jack plug on the edge by accident when plugging his headphones in, the screws have never been touched (turned in away way).

you may not be concerned because its on the edge but for me this is a top on the line club standard mixer at £1699 that should withstand a few knocks,  i personally think the paint finish is to thin or soft and has flaked off too easily. i have come to  this conclusion because the flake be the screws.

i have had 600's,800's and 900nxs over the years and never had an issue like this.

as i said this mixer has more marks than my 4 year old 900nxs .

my question was do you think this is a manufacturing defect in my mixer alone or is this the actual standard finish?

Pulse I am having the same issues around the edges of the Unit as pictured above, I am afraid to try to scratch the plate in fear of making it look bad. Its almost like the edges when the unit was produced weren't baked in property as compared to the DJM 900 NXS (1).
