@Jay > In order for the beatgrid to get calculated properly for the beatslicer, the DJM and CDJs must be networked, same thing if you're using rekordbox.
I have mentioned this many times but this time PIoneer you have no excuse !
i have always had an issue using beat slice function when using Traktor ! Basically it does not sync, records an extra snippet and sounds like a car wreck.
i decided hey, due to using another companies software may be the issue so like an idiot I payed for rekordbox performance!
my thoughts were that having beat grids form pioneer may make the beat slice act correctly. WRONG! Again using performance mode with 2 x 2000 Cdj and Djm 2000 still does not make the beat slice function work. Only if exported to usb does it work! Master beat value in the readout still registers as 0. So in a nut shell beat slice doesn't a work with traktor or rekordbox. I would really like an answer this time as this has been going on over a year with no answer. Regards.

If by networked you mean Ethernet between Cdj and Djm its done
also it's fully usb connected between laptop and Cdj /Djm
I have swapped to performance pack in thinking the beat grid will be sent by Mac to beat slicer but no!
beat slicer will not recognise any beat grid unless transferred to usb.
surely this can't be right. Why won't it use performance pack beat grids sent from Mac or traktor beat grid sent from traktor
Sorry, there's a bit of a misunderstanding. The beatslicer doesn't get any grid data from Traktor; only from rekordbox-prepared USB drives (on players) or content served directly from rekordbox.
That's my point pulse, I can understand no content is sent via traktor as its a different product. But when I play tracks directly from either performance or export mode via control mode still doesn't work. I can only get it to work via usb prepared tracks and not in performance mode. It's not the end of the world but I've paid a lot and just can't bare to think a simple button may just sort this out!
kind regards
Ah, that would be because Performance mode doesn't send the grid data; it's only in EXPORT mode where the players are receiving the track and grid data from rekordbox.
When you're in Performance mode, all that work is done internally on the software.
