DDJ RZX jog wheel quality??

Someone posted that the jog wheel isn't the same as RZ but lower version of it is it officially confimed?? This is my first DDJ purchase and in my country there's isn't really a demo product I could feel in person for neither rzx and rz, however I have ordered one online it's arriving in a few days, if this is true, SHAME on you Pioneer! 3000usd for a flagship that lacks the spec of the previous flagship.

Hello our valued customers,

We apologize for the incorrect information posted to the product page, it was not our intention to mislead users and we have corrected the specifications to reflect the actual hardware construction.

The DDJ-RZX was developed based on the CDJ-2000NXS2, so we have used the same industry leading CDJ-2000NXS2 jog wheels in the DDJ-RZX. While our DDJ-RZ has high-performance aluminum jog wheels, we feel the current jog wheel is best suited for the DDJ-RZX.

Thank you very much for your kind understanding.

Best regards,

CRM, Pioneer DJ

I don't have specs in front of me, but having played on both the platters on the RZX aren't inferior to those of the RZ.  Pioneer is giving you the quality and build from the CDJNXS2 line so you're getting the best they have to offer at this point.....

They are absolutely different.  The RZ features a aluminum jog whereas the RZX is plastic.

Now this is an embarrassment Pioneer ! I received the RZX yesterday and its jog wheel is like he said : PLASTIC ! your official website stated aluminum ! this model does not deserve its 2999 price tag, I should have just got the RZ, don't call it RZX if a major specification doesn't compare to the RZ, and LIE to us on the website !

scam ! scam ! scam !

Well I would not call it a full out scam but it is quite unfortunate that they made this change and kept the product family model the same.  It's confusing   However if you look closely at each page on the site it shows RZ as having aluminum and the RZX page never mentions that at all - I did not notice this until I had the RZX in hand.

Even with that said I have been enjoying the RZX quite a lot - I just wish the Jogs felt like the RZ.

OP is correct.

Pioneer you need to make this right - on the specifications page it clearly shows:

202 mm durable aluminium jog wheel

At this point Pioneer needs to fix the webpage and ship us (anyone that purchased a unit up until now) DDJ-RZX units with Aluminum JOGS.

this is retarded now looking back at what they responded earlier, whoever spent 3000 bucks on this so-called flagship like us are just laughing stocks now

I raised this point on many occasions.  Originally when I purchased the unit I expected aluminum jogs.  When the unit arrived I spoke up on the forum and checked the RZX front page which does not mention the aluminum but the RZ did.  So thinking back I was expecting aluminum jogs on this unit but it took almost 8 weeks to receive my unit after purchase so I spaced that fact.

Either way Pioneer is going to need to make this right - its clearly false advertising and that can lead to some big trouble.

Listening Pioneer?  We need/demand that this situation be made right.

yes this is now a VERY SERIOUS CASE !

in case if Pioneer tries to deny it by changing the spec statement later on I have screenshot it as well as recorded a video (just so i don't get accused for photoshopping the screenshot).

Although there are only a few of us who actually got the RZX, but whoever is willing to spend 3k on a flagship controller DO CARE very much, and again, it's FALSE ADVERTISEMENT ! I will make sure Pioneer regrets it until it's made right !

I've had my DDJ-RZX for nearly a couple of months now, so when spending £2,500 on your flagship controller you natural expect the components to be the same quality (or higher) and not a downgrade on the previous flagship.

So when seeing that the RZX is actually SUPPOSED to come with the aluminium jogs as stated on the DDJ-RZX specs page (https://www.pioneerdj.com/en-us/product/controller/ddj-rzx/black/specifications/), just like that of the RZ specs page (https://www.pioneerdj.com/en-gb/product/controller/ddj-rz/black/specifications/) you will note that they both say:

"202 mm durable aluminium jog wheel"

The RZX jogs are clearly plastic, the same as (or very much like) those on the XDJ-1000's.

Now let's be very clear: this unit is two and a half THOUSAND pounds. It is not a toy; the things costs a fortune, so I must admit to be feeling particularly duped by the advertising here which is simply not what I'd come to expect.

in this case, I even asked first then I bought it with confidence, turned out to be fooled. What was Pioneer thinking on cost-downing those 2 plates, to save 10 bucks manufacture cost ?

Why has this thread been hidden?  This is disingenuous at best.

EDIT: everyone with a RZX call <SNIP> - ask for warranty support.  Let them know the situation.  I just got off the phone with them and this was "news to them".

Guys, as @Jay posted, we've passed your complaints along to our product teams, marketing teams, and web teams. Calling the 1-800 number will not help at this point.

The DDJ-RZX remains a solid controller and features a high-performance jog wheel regardless of the information on the website. Our teams are working to correct the information and should this information truly affect your use or enjoyment of the product, I would recommend you return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

I am going to close this thread to give everyone a bit of time to cool down and wait an official response, which we expect to have within the next day or two. Please do not post another topic in regards to this issue as we it will be removed. Again, we thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue for you.

@Regen > Your post was not deleted but rather moved to an administrative section as it was very much a duplicate of this post, and creating unnecessary confusion in providing support.

The platter on the rzx is way better than the ones on all the other controls don't know why anyone would complain about getting the exact platter as a cdj nxs table. The cdjs have them for a reason, and they are top of the line. I'm happy about this platter. It's way better than the rz control.definitely not a downgrade.

You cannot be serious?   The jogwheels on the RZ are aluminum and weighted - they feel much better.  I own both units and have used both units for thousands of hours.

Do you own a RZ in addition to a RZX?

For one thing when you spin the jogs on the RZX they make this noise where you can hear the bearings.   On the RZ when you spin them there is 0 noise and resistance.

Yes, he can be serious, the CDJ2000NXS2 jogs are definitely better than those of the RZ. I don't care how noisy they are, I care about the feel and I prefer the CDJ-style.

So really, it's personal preference.
