DJM900nxs2 problems

I have 2 problems - first one - after pluging any audio source via aux USB - everything works fine for about 2 minutes, then usb diode and on/off button blacks out and have no sound, and the situation is repeating everytime i plug in usb device. Second one- after few hours of playing (pair of CDJ 2000nxs2 connected to 2&3 channels) when player on channel 2 is stopped i can see 1-3 diodes turned on/blinking on level meter- while using gain knob signal raises or falls. I am using penultimate firmware update.

1. What type of audio source are you attempting to plug into the AUX USB slot?

2. Just so I'm understanding correctly, when the player is disabled the level meter is still illuminating diodes, meaning there is still seemingly an audible signal being passed through the channel? Are you connecting via RCA or SPDIF?

1. Insert + FX channel selector- everything is Ok but after 2 minutes turns off.
2. Yes/stock 2x RCA to analog line in

1. My apologies, I should have been more specific: what type of device are you plugging into the aux–an iPad?

2. Have you tried different RCA cables? My guess is there is a possible short in one of the cables causing some low-level noise to ring through. If that doesn't turn out to be the culprit, then I'm honestly not sure what would be causing those levels to rise.

1. iPad and iPhone - both have the same issues- with the stock firmware there was No problem with them- No difference if i was using iTunes music player or launchpad app.
2. I will try other RCA cables tomorrow and write here if there was a difference.

1. Damn. Sorry you're having these issues, and it definitely shouldn't behaving like that with a simple program like iTunes. Have you tried updating to the firmware they released yesterday for the DJM-NXS2? If that doesn't do the trick, you may need to contact support unless @Mark or @Pulse add anything.

2. Cool! Definitely let us know. Also, if you have SPDIF coaxial, try connecting your decks digitally to the mixer to see if you get the same result. We can atleast try and isolate the noise issue, narrowing it down as much as possible.

Cheers.

Hi Tomasz, is this true that you use the DJM 900 NXS2 with one or two ipads?

It works over USB and can make Mix for Channel A to B?

I also want to buy this mixer but the seller Thomann tell me, that it doesnt work! 🙁

Hi Marco,

It sounds like you may have misunderstood the OP's situation and setup. To answer your question, you can use an iPad with the Aux USB (the USB connection on the right side of the mixer) of the DJM NXS2 to act as a means to process the audio through a compatible iOS app or to play music from the iPad using a compatible app. As far as I know, you cannot connect iPad(s) to the DJM using the A/B USB ports on the left of the mixer. You can connect a Rekordbox equipped iPad to a CDJ-NXS/NXS2.

Hope this helps.
