CDJ 850 Won't Power Up

Hello,

The STANDBY  button of my Pioneer CDJ 850 started flashing instead of starting up. When I took out the power cable, it continued flashing and after some time it stopped and I'm unable to start my CDJ.

Eventually I had it repaired by a service engineer I know. The problem occured between the connection of the different circuit boards in the cdj. He tested all the connenctions and eventually he found the problem without replacing anything. I recommend you to first bring it to someone you know before taking it to Pioneer because they will probably put a new circuit board in it which will end up costing you a lot. Hope this helps.

If you want to fix this problem you can repair it by yourself if you want... i've had the same issue, bought 2cdj850's for 300$ knowing one of them had the no boot problem.. so it was a little gambling for me..

Now as i am a technician im not affraid to open these things and start measuring on the pcb's... and guess what its fixed...

If your cdj850 doesnt boot at al even not showing power indicaters you need to open it and once opened you take the bottom side of your cdj,. On the pcb where the audio jacks are connected (aka audio print $$120$$) is a little mini tiny fuse next to the cable where the internal power supply is connected... mostly this one is broken... you can measure it with even a cheap multimeter. you can order the fuse for about 3$ and solder it by yourself. this fuse is the 12Volt security of the 850's layout and brakes if you didnt unload the capacitor of the psu while servicing or if any form of wather has come to the 12volt circuit.
Now sorry to say, but its a little shame on you on pioneer to secure its electrics on this way so no one with any any equipment can fix this timy issue by itself... but whatever...
Got myself a nice pair of 850's for 303$ :)
