Cover artwork from iTunes: sometimes imported, sometimes not

When I import my songs from iTunes to RekordBox, sometimes the cover artwork shows up, sometimes not. 

I reloaded the tracks and even reloaded the iTunes library on RekordBox, nothing happens. Furthermore I right-clicked the concerning tracks and tried to get the information via iTunes there, that doesn't help either.

This affects no special file type, it affects mp3 and aac the same way.

What can I do (besides loading external the artwork).

I really wish DJs would get away from using iTunes to bridge into DJ software, it seems to cause more problems than it's worth!

Some of these issues stem from iTunes not exporting the proper data in the XML file, or not storing the album artwork on the file itself. My recommendation is to drag the artwork from the file in iTunes to your desktop, toggle over to rekordbox and drag and drop it back to the file.
