Toraiz safe buy?

I am looking for a a standalone sequencer/sampler for beat making and creating build-ups for live performance. Now I've looked around alot. From the Teenage OP thing to the Octatrack etc.

Now I've noticed the Toraiz a couple of months ago, but since there is like 0 marketing since it's release I forgot about it. It somehow fits alot of my needs I think.

Even on the forums theres very little activity around the Toraiz, but I've noticed PIO is kinda changing the product alot with that little feedback, which is ofcourse great!

Now my question is, if it's safe to buy for the reasons I've mentioned above, because I DJ'd my *ss off for this to be able to buy.

Many thanks in advance!!

The Toraiz has parameter locks too!

More effects coming for the Toraiz too, according to one of the screens seen at the Musikmesse launch earlier in the year, there will be 20 effects - Chorus, Flanger, Phaser, Ring Mod, Tremelo, Auto Pan, Distortion, Lo-Fi, Delay, Reverb, 2-pole EQ, Filter, Compresser, Limiter, Ducker, Vinyl Break, Trans and Roll.

well its safe as anything else these days until someone else comes with something that beats it. But Pio definitely has the edge on this.... depends how hard they nail it.

Well, it just arrived at my workplace and I am really thrilled to give it a go when I'm at home!

It's kinda flying under the radar at this moment. There are practically no references to the device since the announcement last april. Like it hasn't been released officially yet!

Are there insert reverb/s and delay/s now/planned? Seems like a huge thing to be missing if not. Various types would be useful. Gritty spring reverb. Vintage tape delay... Etc. I have some pretty big doubts over this unit but if pioneer start adding the things that people are suggesting it could be pretty great in 6 months time... Up to them if they want to invest in it and make it a big success/serious competitor to rival units or not.

My post outlining the current shortcomings of the Toraiz got quickly swept away in to the dj products > features requests thread. (toraiz isn't even in the dj products category right??). Kinda shady? But check it out for a pretty thorough list of observations gathered from various online threads in other forum discussions. This unit needs some SERIOUS attention before it can really be taken seriously as anything other than pretty to look at...
