Hot cue lag

I have a set of perfect cdj 2000 nexuses bought new. And people are staying the hot cues lag when you hit them. I don't use that much and haven't noticed. Am curious if there's a setting it something.

Hi.

Not sure what lag you are talking about. If you use the Hot Cues as designed there is no lag. I assume you are using the the Hot Cues with a USB devise exported from rekordbox?

If so and you are loading the tracks via the rotary knob the hot cues are loading and can be triggered without delay. When triggering them you are depending on the Quantize function. If Quantize is activated it depends what the Quantize setting is to which the Hot Cue aligns. If Quantize is off the Hot Cue starts immediately when pressing the button.

If you are loading the track via the Track Search buttons, the Hot Cues are not loaded for immediate use. You have to 'call' them first to activate. But even when calling them they are not ready to use. You have to press them first to make them work properly. This may cause a delay - but it is part of the current design.

It would be nice to have them ready to use when 'calling' them but this isn't implemented yet.

If you still experience issues with the Hot Cues, please let us know and give us an insight of your settings. In your post you haven't explained in detail when you are experiencing the lag and what your settings are. So we can only guess what you are talking about.

theres no lag on the nexus hot cues, i use them all the time, if QUANTIZE is on then they may think its lag because it snaps to the nearest beat, I leave quantize off

Quantize was on for sure. Will try it off. After show last night the other DJ said he only noticed the lag on one deck and said that when he pushed the hot cue button faster it only went the same speed. Rather than going the speed he was hitting it. Probably due to the quantize being on. I'm wondering why he's noticing it on one deck and not both? Thanks so much for the answers. Really appreciate it. Will test out tonight.

Yes. On the NXS2 press the Shortcut button and adjust the Quantize to the setting of your choice.

and theres a quantize button to simply turn it on and off. this is definitely his issue, if quantize is on you can't expect to hit it really quick, it will only bang in on the beat which is the point when having it on
