djm s9 channel 1 glitch

when in relative mode track creates it's own cue point then keeps jumping back to that cue point....stuck in a stutter.  only on channel 1. works fine if i switch to channel 3...........brand new. opened box yesterday  updated firmware, updated serato dj.....

Have you checked that you don't already have some MIDI mappings setup in Serato?

I opened the midi panel. It looked like the load track was being triggered. I unassigned it... Didn't resolve problem. Nothing else looks like it's being triggered. It's weird because if I use the same left side on channel 3 that problem doesn't happen... Also weird is that it won't happen if I leave the volume fast all the way down. The second the volume fader is raised problem occurs... Again only when used in channel 1... all good when switched to 3

It sounds like it could be a MIDI issue; please download one of these MIDI monitors and see if you are getting odd signals being sent from the S9 when that occurs:

Mac: MIDI Monitor

Windows: MIDIOX

exited from serato dj. i was then able to conect to mixer from midi ox. nothing to monitor tho without signal. while connected i ran seratodj. serato connection to mixer failed. tried exiting midi ox with pioneer settings saved. then restart mixer to connect to serato then run midi ox.... same message and will not connect to monitor.

I'm not on my Windows machine right now, but there is an option to "monitor" the communication between a device and software.

Tried to find that option. I'm probably not understanding the wording and can't find it.... But I did go back to your first suggestion and looked a little closer. In the midi tab of serato settings I reset defaults but that didn't help. I then clicked on the pioneer mixer and deselected "allow serato hardware recapping". So far that fixed it. I'll check it more thorough in the morning and confirm.
