It could be any number of things. Unfortunately, the only way to tell exactly what the issue is, is to duplicate the problem.
Hi, i have been using second hand CDJ900's for a couple of months, but now occasionally Deck 2 will play, but no sound will come out of the cdj. It has happened both mid song and whilst using the cue button. You can see the song playing as usual, but no sound.
I have tried:
- I have tested the cords and output and it is not my DJM800 or the cords.
- I have updated the firmware to the latest (which it already was).
- I took it to a Pioneer repair place but the issue did not show for him so just opened it for a service as he couldn't see the issue.
Has anyone heard of this before and can offer any advice. It is not too risky to play a show/party with this deck as the problem is intermittent. Help please.

Thanks Mark. It has only done it once lately and fixed up within minutes. I was planning to film it if it happened again so the service agent could see exactly what is happening. I guess i just wait and see.
Here's a vid i just made as it happened again this morning.

Thanks for the video. Because you got them second-hand, there is a chance that the RCA output board on the deck or the channel 4 RCA input board on the mixer need replacing. Next time this happens, without unplugging them - try jiggling the cables on the deck and see if the sound comes on. Also, try the same on the mixer.
Also, does this only happen when playing content from the linked left deck? Or does it also happen when the drive is plugged directly into the right deck? If it only happens when playing from the linked deck, the network cable may be the problem.
Thanks Mark. I have passed this onto the technician looking at it presently. I only really use this as the linked deck actually, so that may be the issue too.
Thanks for the feedback.
Same problem with my cdj900. Need help how to fixed it.
