FollowWave forms not on CDJ 3000 (but all responding on nx2s)
Hi all,
Scenario is:
CDJ 2000NX2 x 2 (channel 2/3)
DJM 900 NX2 x 1
--
(new) CDJ 3000 (channel 4)
---
Link works - CDJ 3000 picks up link from decks 2 OR 3
When Deck 2 or 3 is master, CDJ 3000 deck 4's wave for WILL show up in deck 2/3 to mix with
CDJ 2000's display the 3k wave correctly to mix
Issue: CDJ 3000 does not display either of the nx2's to mix with. so while I can do it by ear, it doesnt have any wave form for visual references.
Is there a setting I am not finding?

I am not clear what your issue is. In which mode you are playing? Stand Alone with a USB Media, Export Link Mode or Performance Mode?
As you mentioned the CDJ-3000 drivers, they are only needed when playing with acomputer.
When talking about the wave showing on the CDJ, are you talking about the stacked wave form the CDJ-3000 is supporting?
I think you need to explain more detailed what you are doing and maybe show a picture or video. This might help to identify what your issue is.
Hi Frank,
USB Standalone correct - using USB 3.0 and tried USB SSD both load fine, but the "stackable" wave form does not appear on the 3000, while the data from the 3000 DOES stack over on the 2000's....
Hi Rick, the stacked wave form does not work between 2000s and 3000s. It only works between CDJ-3000s. When saying the data from the 3000 does stack over on the 2000 sounds a bit weird to me as the 2000s don't have stacked wave forms.
Maybe you can share a picture how it looks like on your CDJs.
I hope I don't misunderstand totaly what you're describing.
Will do as soon as Im home from work.
Here is a sample image - the NX2's still have both master(orange) on top of incoming track. This is the case when a track is playing on the 3000s, the data will appear over in wav's on the 2000s like below
So the 3000's are not compatible this way you say? As in the 2000's will not appear on a 3000 as shown below on the nx2)?
Maybe Im meaning to site "stack able beat grids" instead of stackable wav forms
Ok - now I understand what you are looking for.
Please check if you are on the latest firmware for all CDJs.
On the CDJ-3000 go to the shortcut menu and enable 'Phase' (upper left corner).
The deck which is the Master doesn't show the Phase meter of the other decks. The decks not being the Master are showing the Phase meter of the Master on top of their own. This should work between 2000nxs2 and 3000's. If it works with older 2000's I don't know.
With other words - if one of the CDJ-2000nxs2 is the Master and Phase is enabled on the linked CDJ-3000, it should show the Phase meter on the 3000 with having the Phase of the Master 2000nxs2 on top of the 3000 Phase.
I have updated firmware for 2000 nx2 + i have updated the 3000 firmware right out of the box (received the 3k yesterday)
The DJM900 I cannot update the firm ware on, because my "on off" for effects is unresponsive... however I can't imagine that's the issue here.
Ill try the suggestion you gave me with phase meter when i get home and report back :) This may be it? fingers crossed!
Good luck!!
Just in case - latest firmware for the CDJ-3000 is version 3.11.
For the DJM-900nxs2 it is 2.07 - you would need this when using Link Cue with the CDJ-3000's. For the Phase meter the DJM should matter.
Just got home and this fixed it! It was indeed the below. Im amazed that isnt on stock! but im glad you could help, really appreciate it!
***CDJ-3000 go to the shortcut menu and enable 'Phase' (upper left corner)***
Glad I could help.
The default for the CDJ-3000 is the stacked wave form and not the phase meter. But you need at least 2 CDJ-3000 to use it.
Instead of going to the shorcut menu you can switch between both by simply tap on the area where it is displayed.
