DDJ-RZ Mic Talkover

I'm noticing that when I have the talkover function enabled on my DDJ-RZ, that the music playing through my sound system will often activate the talkover function as soon as I un-mute my wireless mic. I checked the manual and it doesn't appear that there is any way to adjust the talkover gate sensitivity.

Could this be possible in the future? Or is there a way to do it now that I'm totally missing?

That doesn't help.

I have the manual open in front of me right now and the only things I can change are what frequencies it attenuates (all of them vs. midrange only) and the attenuation level (-6 dB, -12 dB, -18 dB, -24dB).

Unless I'm missing something, I'm not able to adjust the sensitivity (i.e. the gate) of the talkover function. So when I have the music cranked and I turn my mic on, it automatically ducks the music... even if I'm not talking.

The only way I've found around this is to turn the mic volume down, but I shouldn't have to do that. It would be much better if there was a setting where the user could adjust the talkover sensitivity.

I'm using the Shure Wireless Beta 58A (PGXD24) but it's the same scenario with any other mic. I also keep the mic muted (on the mic) until I use it, but like I said, as soon as I un-mute it the talkover kicks in.

are you using a Microphone Windshield

• This windshield helps to suppress breathing sounds, wind noises, squeals and booming effects
