Difference Between 'Memory Cue' and 'Hot Cue'?

I am just setting my cue points in Rekordbox on the iPad app. So I can then update the cue points to my collection.

But I don't understand the difference between ''memory cue' and 'hot cue'...

Can someone explain the difference please?

Memory Cue - Jumps to a position in a track already cued and saved

Hot Cue - Jumps to a position in a track already saved and plays from that point

Active Loop - Jumps to a position in a track already saved and loops (preset loop)

That's confusing I don't understand sorry?

Basically I want to use the 4 cue buttons on the top left of CDJ NXS2, so they instantly play certain parts of the track. For instance...

1. start of track

2. main drop

3. breakdown

4. outro

So would I set them as hot cues or memory cues?

Please explain it a little simpler haha sorry

Set as Hot Cues - you can do this on the fly or just press on the jog platter to pause at the desired position, then press one of the unlit hot cue buttons to set it.

Then when you press an illuminated hot cue button it will instantly play from set position.

Hope that explains it.

Could you give me an example of how a memory cue would be used please?

I know how to use the hot cue buttons on the unit... it was just understanding the memory cue mainly. What it is actually used for... it basically cues to the point, but doesn't play, is that right?

Yes, you can set numerous cue points in a track which when called upon
by pressing <CALL> will jump to set cue points and pause until you hit play.
