DDJ RB SETUP AND AUDIO ISSUES

Hi All,

I am brand new to the DJ'ing scene, so would appreciate if somebody could help me out with an answer in the form of a 2 year old!

I recently purchased a DDJ-RB controller, with DM-40 Speakers and HDJ-700 headphones. All the wires are connected correctly (I hope, but I am pretty sure they are), and I think I made my error during installation of Rekordbox. After registering my account, and activating my license key, I got to the ‘Select Speaker’ page, where I accidentally clicked ‘Built in laptop speaker’ instead of ‘Active Speakers’ for the DM-40. The result of this is now sound coming from both the speakers, and the laptop at the same time.. I also cannot get any sort of sound through my headphones whatsoever.

My preferences in the Audio section are as follows (I’ve included the other options I have also):

  • Audio –

Windows Audio:

Line (Pioneer DJ DDJ-RB)

Speaker/HP (Realtek High Definition Audio)

Speakers (WsAudioDevice_383)

ASIO:

DDJ-RB ASIO – I currently have this ticked.

  • Output Channels –

Master Output:

DDJ-RB ASIO: Master + Realtek High Definition Audio – I currently have this ticked

DDJ-RB ASIO – Phones

  • Headphones Output:

DDJ-RB ASIO: Master + Realtek High Definition Audio – I currently have this ticked

DDJ-RB ASIO – Phones

  • Booth Output:

Blank – I currently have this ticked.

DDJ-RB ASIO: Master + Realtek High Definition Audio – I currently have this ticked

DDJ-RB ASIO – Phones

I would very much appreciate if somebody can help me with this & promise to buy whoever a pint!

Happy to answer as many questions as needed also.

Thanks guys,

Ben

Ben,

The option you choose from the 'Select Speaker' page during installation, can be changed from within the Rekordbox software by clicking on the purple button to the left of the level meters - for your configuration it should be 'Off'.

Secondly, change your 'Headphones Output' to 'DDJ-RB - Phones' - this will solve your headphone issue.

Hope this helps solve your issues.
