HARDWARE! :D
Pulse
Any idea if the beat EFX are hardware based or if it requires Rekordbox DJ plugged in.
Pretty excited about this if it's standalone!
HARDWARE! :D

Pulse, you made my f'in day.
This is huge.
Pre-ordered, and will post a full review on Youtube like my other Pioneer gear when it shows up!
lol - awesome! :D
Does that mean that it will work even without plugging the computer ? Just simply by powering the unit and using it as a standalone mixer with the PHONO/LINE inputs ?
(Sorry I'm new on this forum I don't now if I should do another post, my question is very related to Harry J's one !)
Thanks by advance ! :)
Most of our controllers have the ability to operate as a stand-alone mixer, including the DDJ-1000.
Hi Pulse, happy Pioneer people,
Are we SURE that the Beat FX are hardware - works only for stand alone mixer - with external sources?
From the manual, the signal diagram looks like BeatFX are hardware; from the external inputs section only color effects are presented for stand-alone mixer as FX.
If Beat FX are HARDWARE (NON Rekordbox dependent) it's huge!!! Like an DJM bundled with 2 controller players :D
If not, it's another approach / revamp to DDJ-RX.
Also if it's hardware, that means the DDJ-1000 has an BPM detection engine built in to detect the BPM from external sources (I've requested as a software function too).
For me looks like a hardware function because it's also covers the mics inputs and it will be an entire mess to have them only software - 1 knob to choose BeatFX for 4 decks; even DDJ-RB has 2 knobs dedicated for BeatFX.
Also, it will be better for everybody (sales, buyers etc.) if this function will be advertised properly and clearly.
Thanks,
I'll have my hands on it this weekend, will confirm 100%.
Is it possible to get a list of all non-software based features?
I'm interessted in the mixer, beat fx and fx section.
As noted above - I'll have my hands-on this unit this weekend, but it's pre-production firmware so not everything is 100% functional, but Jay and I will try and create a short vid to give everyone an overview of those functions.
Any other questions or things you want to know / see, post a reply and we'll try to include it.
@Pulse
Any updates about the hardware Beat FX? .. or do we need to wait 2 more days till NAMM!??
Thanks
OMG OMG, it's hardwareeeeee - video from Pulse!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks Pulse, thanks Pioneer!!!!
To anyone, I'm selling a 6 months DDJ-RX like new, only home usage, with dust cover & Magma bag? :D
Sorry, had the chance to do the video, but couldn't get in here to post it. Thanks MiniBum.
Sorry but I can't make the hardware fx work while using the software.
It does work as long as the channel is not the usb channel in use (line or usb B) but as soon as I switch to usb A, the on/off FX hardware blue switch doesn't work anymore.
Note, that it's still work as a software release fx by using it with shift enabled.
Can you please advice ? Will look into the manual as soon as I will download it.
Pulse said it was hardware beat FX. Maybe he meant only hardware haha! :)
Did you upgrade to 5.1.1? The new effects are built into rekordbox DJ too so maybe it requires the newer Rekordbox DJ to run correctly? Althought I hope that for consistency and CPU burden, the effects get processed in hardware vs through software on the laptop. The less my mac has to do the better :)
BTW - how did you get your hands on this unit already??
Yes, that what was my fear but I found 2 videos on YT where the guys have it working, so my unit have an issue or there is something to setup into RKB.
Yes I'm on 5.1.1 even before having the DDJ 1000. The FX are hardware and processed onto the controller/mixer side.
Pre ordered on Friday 19th, delivered on Tuesday the 23th, nothing special.
@Spark
What country are you in? What site did you pre-order it from? I'm getting estimates late Feb. :(
France. Sonovente.com but Bax-shop also got it as Thomann (Germany) but now they're all waiting for new arrivals in 3 weeks at best.
EDIT : hardware FX fixed with Firmware 1.03, also into the release note.
If anyone is not getting the process involved from the 5.1.1 even before having the DDJ 1000. The FX are hardware and processed onto the controller/mixer side that you must know the entire things from the help of the Google Drive tech help to understand the following process.
