Correct, most XDJs and CDJs don't come with a rekordbox dj license, as you don't need one for standalone use.

I just received my 2 new XDJ1000mk2 players and they don't seem to come with a rekordbox license, is that right? I just sold my £200 controller that came with one and replaced them with £2000's worth of players that don't. Seems a little bit scroogey if it is correct!

My XDJ-RX2 was standalone and came with a license. I think once you get to a certain price point all customers should be rewarded with a license
Yes, the RX and RX2 are the only standalone units that come with a license, hence why I said most don't.
I think most people who buy expensive Pioneer players don't intend to use them as simple controllers, so it doesn't make sense for Pioneer to include licenses.

I have the same issue - I have purchased the XDJ 700s with no licence key, am I able to use rekordbox without a key to sort and load my USB for standalone use?
Hi, I have been searching the forum for a thread regarding this as my partner purchased me a pair of XDJ-100Mk2's for Christmas. I was using a pair of CDJ-1000's combined with a Rane SL2 box & Serato. I have been using Serato video as my library & output are turning more & more to video, as are many Dj's, but for you to say:-

shows that you are out of touch with what the average club/bar Dj's are doing. The point I am making here is just to show my disgust at having to pay for the software I need & would like to use, after already paying over £2000.
I understand your frustration however that's what they've decided to do. Sorry!
Well all I can say is, it's a good job us Dj's don't have that attitude, otherwise we would be sacked!
All I can say is I don't make the decisions - we've argued the same thing back to Japan, but that's the choice they made.
