Sync Traktor to DJM 750k MK2

Hello Fellow DJs,

So I've recently acquired a brand new DJM750k MK2 (I LOVE THAT THING), and play with two XDJ-700s.

When I started mixing I was using traktor with an S4 midi controller and an F1 controller (kinda like a sampler). I do not want to get rid of it as I still like it for being pretty mobile and would like to be able to use it together with my pioneer set up. I normally hook it up as a 4th channel to the DJM and everything works perfectly.

However... I would like to be able to sync the beats from traktor to whatever is playing on the DJM, so that I could use the F1 to load vocal samples, or quick loops etc. Since I don't have any way of adjusting whatever plays from the F1 as there are no jog wheels or touch strips, it would be great if these could just sync up to whatever beat is playing on the DJM.

Is that possible :-) ??

Any tips are greatly appreciated!!

BR,
Kuba

Hi Kuba, Yes I think its possible, you can use Traktor with your XDJ-700's in HID mode BUT you need some custom mappings (Traktor Bible may help), as XDJ700's are not officialy supported by Native. If you're playing with pendrives and want to use traktor just as a 'sampler' with your f1, I guess you can sync traktor to the DJM midi clock out. Beware that the bpm reading on the djm isn't always very precise.

Unfortunately I don't have neither the djm750mk2 or the xdj700, so I can't help you with more details on the setup.

Thanks a lot for the tip! I'll check it out !

And I want to use the second option you mentioned... the DJM to be the master of everything, and just drop samples in with the F1 controller but without having to adjust their position (because you actually cannot, so if not hitting the sample perfectly in time it will always be off :/).

Do I need any specific cable or device in order to send the midi clock from DJM to Traktor ?

I guess not, it'll send midi clock via usb. You will use the internal sound card of the djm to send audio from traktor via usb anyway, so no more cables needed.
