The good news is the XDJ-AERO shipped with a license for rekordbox 2. As of version 3, a license was no longer required. You only need a license to use rekordbox dj (PERFORMANCE mode), you can still use rekordbox (EXPORT mode) for free, no license required.
That old license does not work for rekordbox dj, and is no longer required.
