RB DMX1 Concern.

Imagine playing at a function, can be anything and, for example, i am asked to cut the music for the bride and groom to cut the cake. The only lights in the room are mine, the music stops and everyone is in total darkness....

Can i have a static scene available from say a pad on my controller which i can call up?

While this is still in the works, our recommendation for a workaround is to create blank "tracks" (songs with zero audio, length can be whatever you want), and then customize their lighting pattern to be something to your liking. Call one "Dancefloor wash" or "Room all BLUE" and then edit the lighting for that song in the LIGHTING mode.

Thanks Pulse.

Will use the workaround for the time being.

Also, (tell me if i should start a new thread), I am experiencing some random crashing of Rekordbox Lighting whilst editing/creating macros. Are there dump files produced which could be sent to you???

Thanks again,

Andy.

You should create an inquiry ticket here and our rekordbox support team will be able to gather some additional information to assist you in resolving this issue.

Pulse,

Regarding your "Workaround", either i am doing something wrong or you didn't test your theory.

Rekordbox Lighting is unable to analyse a blank track and i am therefore unable to create my own lightshow for that track.

Update!!

I have found a workaround for the workaround....!!!!!

Firstly take a track with some audio (any duration).

Import into Rekordbox and analyse.

Then in Phrase Edit, Clear the generated Phrases and replace with your own fixture settings.

Come out of Rekordbox and open the audio track in an editor and delete the audio.

Save back to Rekordbox with the same file name to overwrite the original.

Done!!

You don't need to delete the audio after... it does work with a blank audio track.

Then maybe it doesn't work with a silent mp4... (which is what i tried)?

Something's changed - it was doing it with the beta I had, but now it's telling me it can't build phrase analysis for blank audio. lol Yay!

So yes, the work-around you're using is the best way to do that.

or just turn the volume down of the track.... if it's playing with the fader down it will still do the lighting effects. I chose a really quiet ambient track and just put it on repeat.
