Safari's probably the culprit; it seems to corrupt the UPD file as it automatically unzips it. Try using another browser.
I'm trying to update the firmware, I've formatted the USB stick and added the firmware file, booted the RX2 into firmware update mode with the message asking for the USB stick into port 1, inserted the USB stick and nothing happens.
I've tried a 2TB external drive and also a 128GB USB stick, formatted with master boot record and without.
Nothing is happening, is anyone else having this issue? Is there a way to push the update from Rekordbox?

Unfortunately a USB drive is required.
Did you possibly download the firmware via Safari?
I tried a USB stick and a USB hard drive, still nothing.
Formatted them every way possible. Yes, downloaded via Safari.
Legend! I reformatted the stick to FAT and master boot record, disabled auto open trusted files within Safari, redownloaded the file and manually unzipped.
Worked a treat!
Awesome. It's that cursed Safari! ;)
You'd have thought it would just call upon the normal Archive Utility app instead of trying to be a hero!
I'll leave it off in case I forget next time and waist another day! lol
