Did you install the drivers again after disabling the High Sierra security?
Hey
I've been using my DDJ-SZ with a MIDI-Mapping in Traktor on my MacBookAir on High Sierra 10.13.3. There were no issues.
2 weeks ago, I switched to a new MacBook Pro and installed everything via TimeMachine backup. Now however, the controller is not recognized as an audio device. Wierdly though, the Midi mapping still works and I can send and recieve signals, just the audio does not work.
Things I've done so far:
- Reinstalled the driver multiple times (considering the Pioneer DJ High Sierra troubleshooting). The driver recognizes the DDJ-SZ.
-Reset the computer's SMC.
-Read through the forums, although nobody seems to have the precise same problem as I do.
-I tested other audio devices, and they were recognized.
Any help is appreciated!

Yes, the installation of the driver worked without a problem. I can also send and recieve midi signals, the controller just isn't recognized as an external audio unit.
@Lars > I just want to verify that you understand you have to do the process twice -- you install once, then disable the security, then install again.
You say the SZ works for MIDI, so I assume if you go to the Apple icon > hold the Option key and click System Information, then select USB on the left, that the DDJ-SZ is appearing in the window to the right? Does it show which firmware version is installed?
Yep, I did that. Still not recognized.
DDJ-SZ is appearing in the System Information, the firmware version is 1.21.
OK, figured it out:
I was unaware that in order to uninstall the driver, I also have to disable the security, so I never actually uninstalled the driver. After that, I reinstalled the driver and everything works.
Thanks for your help!
