DJM-S9 Pads, Loop, Browse freezing.

Hello All.  I purchased a S9 in mid-Nov.'16.  A few months ago, i started to notice that the Pads, Loop controls, and Browse  would occasionally (once every 10 startups) freeze up (the rest of the mixer remained operable).   It took some time for me to check and test my cables/connections, computer, software/drivers/firmware, USB ports, and found no issues, leading me to believe it is the mixer.  During this time, I've noticed that the problem happens more frequently (almost every time now) and earlier after startup (within about 5-10 minutes).  I located this video (along with a few others)..  NOT my video, but shows the exact same problems here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQnM-qEQFgc&sns=em

The comments under the video indicate that the mixer's motherboard was replaced, and that corrected the problems.

I contacted Pioneer and "Gil" provided me with an email, listing the service centers near me.  My follow-up emails/questions have been unanswered.

My question is...

If this is a known issue, will the manufacturer cover the cost of repair/replacement , even though it slightly past warranty?

If not, does anyone know the approx. repair cost to replace the motherboard?

If the repair cost is too high, I will probably purchase a different (non-Pioneer) product.   Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jim

Are you using the latest drivers, firmware, and Serato DJ Pro? You didn't list any of that in your post, so it's hard for me to know where to start.

Yes.. it started with firmware 1.07 and drivers 1.010. Continues with firmwate 1.08 and drivers 1.100. Computer exceeds specs, USB cables and ports check out too. No wifi or antivirus software. Rolled back and installed firmware 1.06 and tested..still happens. A lot of money spent on something that cant be used after a year without needing repair (which im sure isnt cheap).. VERY displeased with Pioneer product right now...followed up by unanswered emails/complaints is adding to my negative view towards the company itself.

I'm not sure who you spoke with, I don't have access to the call centre tickets, and I don't see one in our system here from the forums.

It can't be the firmware if you claim to have reverted to 1.06 and it still occurs.

If you're able to provide a video of what happens before and leading up to the freeze, it would help our teams trace the problem.

Hi, thanks for your replies.
I recieved 1 email from "Gil" which included a link to area authorized service centers... all other emails/complaints went unanswered.

my problem is the EXACT issues/symptoms shown in the video in the original post (above)..
* all 16 performance pads freeze, along with the slicer, sampler etc buttons. (they remain lit with the same info, cue points/etc after the freeze initiates - even if a new/different song is loaded/played
* all loop controls freeze. (nothing triggered when pressed)
* browser knob freezes (no response when turned)

faders, eq, effects all still work.
there is nothing that i have checked/found that is causing/triggering the problem (certain song/file/format loaded, no specific knob/button/key pushed)

thank you
