I am running 2 xdj 1000, linked, with a rane mp2015 mixer using usb sticks exported from rekordbox where every track was analyzed. Some beat grids manually adjusted because the software isn’t that good yet.
Anyway, how come the xdj’s don’t read the beat grids and sync them when the sync button is on both players? I came over from Traktor. Sometimes I’m lazy and want to make a mix focusing on eq, efx, or just trying something new....without having to beatmatch.
It seems like the ‘sync’ button in rekorbox, using the xdjs, ONLY auto adjusts the bpm reading on the players to match/equal...But when you cue the incoming track, you still have to beatmatch. So what is the point of the ‘sync’ button if all is does is change the bpm’s of the loaded track to match the playing track.
Am i missing something or does sync NOT work like Traktor?
fyi- I searched forums and while some folks are having sync issues ie tracks slipping away eventually...I think my question/issue is somewhat different.

@Luke > Two options... first, try enabling the QUANTIZE function and it will then lock the beats when you start playback, the second would be (if you didn't want to enable quantize), to simply press the sync button again to snap the grids together.

Tengo XDJ RX2... Y tampoco tengo claro como funciona,, vengo de usar Virtual dj , no conozco tractor, pero aunque vdj muchos dicen lo malo que es, etc... yo le he visto cualidades que aún no las he descubierto con pioneer, entre ellas el modo sync.
Creo que está pensado para ajustar el bpm y no para trabajar sync beat, más que un fallo o problema, es un punto a mejorar en los modos autónomos por el equipo de ingenieros de Pioneer.
Es decir, si los demás sistemas, tractor,Vdj, serato,... tienen un modo auto sync mejor, rekordbox también deber tenerlo, pero sobre todo en los modos autónomos, ya que trabajar sin ordenador es el futuro, gama xdj rx2, cdj2000nx2, etc....
I have the Qunatize function on but the grids still don’t ‘snap’. I have to nudge the platter to get em beatmatched. What should the Q setting be on: 1, 1/2, 1/4, or 1/8? Maybe that is the problem?
