I currently have been using my desktop computer to load the playlists and music onto a portable USB external hard drive.    I was debating on buying the REKORDBOX Lighting Software to control my DMX lighting rig but still utilize the HARD DRIVE plugged in directly to the CDJ2000NXS2 that are all connected on the network Ethernet to talk to the other CDJ2000NXS2 and my DJM900NXS2...

I was wondering if I am using the hard drives plugged directly in the CDJ's if it would also send the info/signal back up to my laptop running the Rekordbox software with Lighting?  or will it not send the music information from the hard drive plugged in the CDJ into the laptop Rekordbox unless the music is in the laptop hard drive or if the hard drive is plugged into the Laptop only?   I prefer using hard drives directly into CDJ's since I get worried a laptop freezing up and such...
