I'm sorry to hear that.
The lighting plug-in is in its infancy, and there are many improvements to come, but even in this early stage, there is a lot that the software can do without manual control or editing. This isn't a full lighting desk or comprehensive lighting software, it's an add-in to help automate the process for DJs who don't know much about lighting and want to make better use of their fixtures -- think of it as "sound-active plus;" it's better than simply running sound active... and it will only get better.
I wouldn't see it as "wasting" money on the purchase, simply that you're an early adopter who has had a different experience than expected.
Is there anything I can help you with to improve the experience? Have you poked around with all the settings and configurations to get the most out of it as-is?
Beyond what you've already mentioned, what do you feel are the features it's missing or falls short in delivering?
