connecting Macbook using Serato DJ via USB to DJM 900.

I have seen DJ's connect directly via USB from the DJM 900 Nexus to a macbook running Serato DJ without any club kit.  How do I do this?

I have the firmware updated on the DJM and CDJ's.

Are you sure it wasn't a DJM-900SRT? That's the Serato edition of what is basically the same mixer. Anyone using a DJM-900NXS or NXS2 would need to use the Club Kit in order to have that same functionality.
