waveform is not smooth

I'm noticing that from some versions the waveform is not smoother, and recently I have updated my Surface laptop with MacBook Pro 15 TB 2017, 16GB ram 256 Ssd, amd 2gb, sandisk 480 gb ssd external. Is there anything that has changed in the management of the waveform?
