Why Can't We Assign Jogwheel Controls On Off-brand Equipment

It's been stated before that Jogwheel support in Performance mode will only work with pioneer made controllers. This is downright spiteful of you.

You make it very hard to want to use your software. I quite dislike your walled garden approach to only giving DJs the bare minimum.

We need flxibility. We need to be able to work with any gear we have and use any software that best accommodates the needs of the DJ. You are preventing possibility with your apathetic approach to customers.

I need one environment to collate my music. And as much of my work is done playing on CDJ-2000s, I need to use Rekord box. However, I also do mobile DJ gigs with a controller. I also need to use Traktor with their vinyl system if I'm at a friend's spot. You prevent me from being flexible

I don't want to have to rely on Rekordbox if I can't use those exported playlists with other apps.

I don't want to rely on Rekordbox Performance mode if you refuse to allow us to bind jogwheels, which is an insanely trivial thing to add to your program.

You make it very hard for me to want to pay for your limited software.

I could go on for days about how Traktor is far more flexible and open. But, that's not the point.

The point is, I want to use both pieces of software. I don't want to be forced to use just one and limit my ability to play out on the devices that fit the needs at hand.

As it stands, your refusal to "play nice" leaves me no choice but to manage two separate libraries of tunes, to duplicate hot cues by hand, and to cludge my entire process of sorting and collating. That's tiring and annoying. Just like your unhelpful defensive responses.

Play nice or goodbye. Work FOR the customer. Imagine what the CUSTOMER needs. Stop trying to screw us over with "cohesive brand experiences" give us the power to do what we want and we will use everything you have.

We don't make our software open to any old hardware for the same reason Apple restricts the ability to install their macOS to their own hardware; it allows us to provide a better user experience.

I appreciate that you want to use rekordbox but I'm sorry, there is nothing we're doing that is an attempt to "screw over" the customer, nor are we "refusing to play nice."

This isn't about "old" hardware. This is about modern, currently produced, hardware.

Because of your self-imposed limitations on your software and lack of a decent small portable DJ controller, the WeGo is far too limiting for its size, you leave me no choice but to look at a software program like Traktor that does let us bind any 3rd party controller under the sun.

You most definitely are being combative and unhelpful and limiting your customers choices. Stop being lazy. Stop pretending you know what's best. I do not appreciate your arrogant tone. This has been an ongoing issue with Pioneer  I cannot comprehend the sort of toxic environment you work in that leads you to believe your responses are sound, just, and thoughtful.

Please understand you said, to paraphrase "Allowing a customer full access to MIDI bindings, a core concept of midi controllers, would be detrimental to the customer experience."

Why don't you just get rid of the new midi binding section alltogether? You don't need it for your gear to work. Why did you go half way but refuse to actually realize the need for a fully bindable interface? Especially when I could just hack a loopback interface to trick your software into seeing a Pioneer product.

There is literally no explanation other than apathetic laziness.
