CDJ-900 - Rekordbox Link Issue (2)

Hi, sorry again this is about 900s Link issue, i did search everything related to it but either different issue or the solution link has been removed.

I linked two of my 900s directly to my ISP wireless router with (4 ports 10-100). (I do have bunch of  separate GigE switch but i'm out of LAN cables).

I use Macbook Pro using WIFI to my network.

Link are established on both 900s Utility Page status. But i kept getting 'Please Permit it on CDJ to show icons'

I did not see anything on both CDJs. I've tried to turn both rotary encoders. but nothing happened.

On CDJs INFO page + MENU, i see:

  • On DECK 1> LINK INFO - PLAYER 2
  • On DECK 2> LINK INFO - NOT CONNECTED

I have tried to set both CDJs Player to AUTO and #1 & #2 respectively according to Rekordbox manual but still nothing on Rekordbox and CJD screen.

I'm on OSX 10.11.6, Rekordbox 5.2.2, Latest CDJ-900 Firmware ver 4.32

No Firewall configured, DHCP Auto. (I can see both CDJ's MAC ADDRESS on my Router)

The only related comment are this one below, but no reply:

I can use LINK normally from Deck 1 to Deck 2 for USB drive sharing.

Appreciate any help :)

Cheers!

Easiest way to configure the players is manually; the AUTO is more for if you're using a mixer like the DJM-2000 which automatically configures the player based on the port, otherwise it can just be a frustration when they auto-number in the wrong order.

As for the player mode, I presume you've got it set to rekordbox mode?

The only other thing I can think of is that the router is possibly preventing the communication of the ProDJ Link network traffic between the wired and wireless networks (some routers do this as a cost-savings). If you can, disable any traffic management features on the unit itself, it may not solve the problem but it's worth trying.

Hi Pulse, thanks for the prompt reply.

First of all:

"As for the player mode, I presume you've got it set to rekordbox mode?"

I assume you mean 'LINK' on the CDJ?. I'm on 900s, and yes Blue LINK button is LIT on both decks. But nothing shows on the screen as below photo.

Yeah i do think my router prevent the communications, but there's no traffic management configured. I already set them all disabled. Including built-in Firewall feature and stuff.

I'm going to try now:

  1. Connecting thru Rekordbox iPhone app via wireless
  2. Using another LAN switch (but still must go thru my ISP router) then wirelessly to my mac, since i don't have Thunderbolt to LAN adapter for Mac :(

Anyways, thanks again! :)
