A somewhat obscure question about a pretty old mixer I realise..
I bought a DJM-300 a number of years ago, as I’d heard from several friends that the sound quality was actually very good for the price, and that it was a well-made, all-analogue mixer.
I use it mainly for sampling, so the only aspects that really matter to me are the sound quality (channels, preamps, phono stage etc) and the EQ quality.
I noticed recently that the early models (late 1990s to early 2000s) say ‘Made in Japan’ on the back, and have a little logo after the Pioneer text on the top and back or the mixer. My model is a slightly later one from 2003. There’s no logo next to the ‘Pioneer’ text, and my model says ‘Made in China’ on the back.
i wanted to ask if anyone here knows if the components etc. used in the two versions (made in Japan and made in China) differed, whether there was a drop in quality of some kind components or sound-quality wise.
If there is I might sell and rebuy one of the earlier mixers as the overall design works great for me. If there’re essentially the same, change in manufacture location aside, I won’t go through the hassle, as mine still works great.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.
