Rekordbox DJ mapping doesn't work

Hello fellow music lovers,

Just started to use Rekordbox DJ after many years of using Traktor.

I am trying to map commands to my A&H Xone 4D midi mixer.

In the midi assign windows everything works fine.

I can add everything I want and in this mode everything works.

As soon as I close the midi assign windows nothing happens when I push the assigned midi buttons on my controller.

I am 100% sure the mixer is working fine, a separate midi monitors proves this.

Am I missing something?

Your response is much appreciated.

Kind regards,

John

Dear Tyler,

Thank you for your comment about the "learn button".

To explain what is happening and I would expect.

I can map all the functions to specific buttons of the controller.

When the mapping menu is on screen and I have pressed learn I can see in the background that the function works perfectly to the assigned button on the controller.

Also the according button number is displayed in the according line of command in the mapping menu.

Nothing that looks different here then in all the tutorials I have seen.

As soon as I close off the mapping menu the mapped controls will not respond to any of the assigned buttons on the controller.

Your help with this is much appreciated.

Kind regards,

John

So, if I understand, it responds while the MIDI window is open, but as soon as you close it, nothing reacts to the hardware input?

That is correct.

It is responding perfectly when the midi mapping window is open and when I close the window nothing happens when I push the same buttons.

None of the mapped functions and none of the buttons respond.

Thank you for your response.

Kind regards,

John

Hmmm... I've not heard of that happening before. If you've mapped a channel fader on the mixer to the channel fader in the software, with the MIDI window open, can you see the software fader moving when you move the hardware?
