RecordBox Database Crash

Thursday night it was last night I was using my RecordBox at my home. Preparing my tracks for my weekend.

I shut down my pc and i didn't take back up because i back my collection wednesday night.

So friday noon i was playing in a beach bar and night to club.

Nothingt happened during my sets.

Everything was fine.

I didn't insert or delete anything from my collection.

When i want to do something like that i do it to my studio and always take back up first because i know that RecordBox isn't the program that we are 100& sure about stability.

So saturday morning I woke up, I went for a coffee, I came home, I eat and now I'm to my studio to listen some mp3's.

Guess what. I open my recordbox programm. No data base found. (It was there)

A message told me something about if i insert mp3s from different computer can make problems about exporting mp3s to usb's.

Anyway i try some things. Nothing!

I even open my laptop but the same there.

So i try to bring back my back up.

From wednsday night.

Guess what. A message tells me that this back of collection was made in another computer so record box cannot open it.

I'm in the same computer i do everything. Here i make my mp3s here i back up my collection.

Thank you very much recordbox.

Now I have to insert again my entire collection (about 18.000 tracks) and prepare them on by one again.

All from begging.

My playlists my tags, everything.

I really want to say bad words for your stability of your program.

But i ll say that: Listen to your customers-djs. They play music.

Your data base size is GB!Other programs have a simple xml file for data base and works perfect!

Backup of this??? Just a copy paste.

Thank you for all pioneer.

Today in my set i really don't know what the fuck (sorry for the word) i'm going to do.

I just insert my collection. 18000 tracks. 15:00 o'clock.

23:00 o'clock i start my set. Recordbox will still analyze tracks! For sure monday will end. You know why??? Because your analyze is simple..And we want phraze analyze. Yes! We can't play if tracks isn't analyzed by fraze!

Ps.: Yes I know! You are sad to hear this! Don't tell me to make inquiry.

Give your solution (if you have) here so other people can find the answers without making inquiry. Its simple!

And don't try to help me about my backup. I just delete everything.

In fact i really thinking of buying another program about 300 euros even if I have recordbox.

Because I use record box for about 1-2 years now and this is the 3rd time that happened exactly the same thing. You know why??Because you update your program and insert the recordbox light program!Yes I know! We can't play without playing lights together.

Thank you again pioneer!

Here's the problem... you didn't reach out for help at problem #1, and in the process could have made changes or mistakes that render any automatic backups unusable.

rekordbox itself doesn't simply lose the database; it's just a file on your computer. And 3 previous-session backups are maintained in the event something from the current database is corrupt.

Was there any changes to your operating system - updates?

How did you back-up your collection?

As I say I don't need any help now because i delete everything and i prepare my mp3s one by one.

''rekordbox itself doesn't simply lose the database'' Are you sure about this Pulse? No progrmam lose files itself. But all files can be damaged. This what we mean when we say something like this.

''something from the current database is corrupt.'' This is what I mean when i say about stability of all the program.

No updates.

I back up my collection with the option record box gives. Only my db. Not my tracks.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure about that -- the system keeps 3 backups and it would take a change or corruption to the settings file, the folder structure / permissions, or all 4 database files for it to "lose the database."

Given that you had an issue with the zip backup restoration on the same computer, I would suspect the problem was likely to do with your settings file or its user permissions.

When was the last time you ran the first aid utility on your drive to repair permissions?

Never.

Do you know Pulse another thing??

If i enter here in pioneer's site i always do a log out and log in.

Everyday!

Because If i try to read your answer without log out I can't!

I click activities and always browser goes to home page.

Don't tell me about cokkies. I 've done that too many times!

No other site in my browser do that. Only pioneer's site.

And this happened when pioneer decide to put all accounts together.

I even don't need help on that. I 'm getting used to that. I just say that, to understand that pioneer have issues with software generally I think!

At hardware i believe that you are 100 years ahead of all others.

Not the same for software.

@Vasilis > Try running the disk first aid, it does wonders when stuff like that happens.

As for the forums, it could be the browser you're using, and yes -- it could be the cookies or other plugins you might be running. You need to clear the cookies and cache for:

*.pioneerdj.com
*.zendesk.com
*.gigya.com
