I noticed that when I first purchased my DDJ 1000 I was running RDJ 5.2.3 or maybe 5.2.2 and DDJ 1000 firmware 1.04, and when playing songs I noticed a obvious cracking distorted sound, particularly when the song on my left deck was live. I did some research and eventually downloaded 5.3 Beta with the DDJ 1000 9.05 firmware and same results. The only way to eliminate this noise was to raise my buffer above 128 opposed to running it at 64 sample rate. Keep in mind that I run both my DJM S9 (DVS) and my DDJ RZX at 64 sample rate without one single hitch, and if you know anything about the DDJ RZX is that its a resource hog.
Anyway, I downloaded the official version of 5.3 yesterday along with firmware DDJ 1000 and the same results, however, I can now run it at a lower rate of 92 samples. My current laptop is a Mid 2014 15" inch MacBook Pro that runs all my dj equipment at the tightest/ lowest settings allowed except for the DDJ 1000.
I just can't imagine that the DDJ 1000 is more demanding than my DDJ RZX, or I can be mistaken. Is anyone else running into the issue of hearing distortion with the latest version of RBDJ with a laptop that should run it without a hitch?
