move database vs backup library

What is the exact difference in what gets saved? Off course when you want to move to a new laptop, the move database seems the most logical (hence the name), but what would be the difference if you want to install rekordbox on the new laptop with the backup library you made?

So the question is: can you used the "backup library" method as an alternative of the move database option, or are there disadvantages??

PS. I run a sync program that backups (among other folders) my C/users/myname/Appdata/Roaming/Pioneer/Rekordbox folder to an external drive. There is more content in this folder than what is in the zip file of the backup. Would it still be possible to install rekordbox on a new laptop with my synced folder (if not, I should stop doing it).

It doesn't matter whether you use Backup Library, Move Database, or restore the Pioneer/rekordbox folder yourself, they all contain the same database. But the recommended way to restore a database is via Backup Library.

The main function of Move Database is to permanently move your Rekordbox database to an external drive. Of course it also has the option to move it back to a computer, if you want to do so.
