Exporting to usb and sd problem

Hello,

When exporting my folders with playlists to my 128 GB usb or 64 GB SD (both high quality Sandisk, formatted as shown on Pule's video), on Windows 7 Professional, I experienced huge problems.

I got the message that there was an exporting error "an error occured while exporting". I went to Windows/Users/MyName/My Documents/ Rekordbox, but there was only one file, an export log of 2015. (maybe in newer versions export logs are stored at an other location?)

I tried to export first by right clicking my folder in rekordbox which contained a some playlists. After the error message, I just kept re-doing this and ander 50 times getting the error message but continueing it worked (which makes me think my files are not corrupted but rekordbox can't handle huge amounts of songs)...

Also, when I tried to select multiple songs, then right click and export, when I had let's say 20 songs, I got an error, but when I selected the same songs in groups of 5, it worked... But it took me 3 hours with this method ...

Most of my files are aiff files coming from ripped cd's via easy cd da extractor, I have some mp3s too but they have all been checked by programs recommend in the knowledge base, so I guess that's not this issue (otherwise the error would not disappear in smaller batches).

Any solutions here??

Thanks!

If you had 20 songs selected and there was an error, but then did 5 and there was no error, did any of the 20 songs error in small batches?

No that is what I am saying. If I keep on re-doing it, in the end it works. Even if I don't go to small batches, but start the proces again and again for 50 times, in the end I don't get an error anymore.

Sometimes I got the error on a batch of 5. Then when I do it WITH THE SAME 5 songs, the error disappears.

All my mp3s have been run through mp3val and all my aiff files are copied with easy cd-da extractor, so it would surprise me if files were corrupted. If so, then the error message should not disappear after trying again...

That answered the question for me. ;)

I was trying to determine if it ended up being one song causing the problem.

What is the source location of the files you're exporting?

Just the C drive on my laptop. In the folder "My Music" on Windows 7.

I tried to find the export logs but that folder seems to be empty (besides some logs of 3 years ago).

Is there any logic to it ala the typical causes (file type / file name & path length / non-standard characters / symbols or characters that might cause a problem)?

I do not think so. Otherwise the same error would occur with a second try?

Is there a file where these errors are logged? I did not find one.

If there is I could try to export again and check if the errors keep happening with the same file(s).... but I am surprised with 2nd 3rd... tries it does go well

File & path length should be ok as syncback (the program I use to backup) would mention it when path lengths are too long.

One time it stopped with a track called runnin' ending with that ' character, but else all files seemed normal...

I am surprised I am the only one suffering from this.

PS. On the exported usb and sd cards I never had problems so all seems to work in the end.... only exporting takes hours as I have to re-start 50 times....
