Is there a way to use the DIN-like connector with an adapter or break-out to get a SPDIF into the CDJ Link connectors on the DJM-1000? Are there any available schematics or info on how the DIN-like input works and what all the pins are? Is the EFX port the same?
The DJM-1000 doesn't support ProDJ Link; that was a MIDI connection (for a whopping SIX MIDI control points!). It had fader-start, but unfortunately that was removed from the players when the CDJ-2000 came out with ProDJ Link (which transmitted that data).
The EFX link was a proprietary connection to create a send/return using just one cable (it was awesome, but only ever for that one product). :(

Sound 1 & 2 and EFX 1 & 2 all appear to be 8 pin mini DIN connectors. The former two were for the DVJ-1000. You guys have pin layouts for them?
Yeah, that's what they were -- but no, I don't think there's any schematics or detailed data on the pin-outs available. You can try the guys and gals at technical support, they may have that information in a service manual.
