Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. I tried a few methods now to try and streamline my rekordbox library to make editing and updating as fluid as possible.
I have a excellent working library located on my MacBook Pro, however i only really use it for gigging with.
In the studio where i do my library updating and editing i have an iMac.
My initial music library is stored on my MacBook.
I managed to get working the cloud based library and even managed to get the rekordbox data files to sync via dropbox.
(In essence, what ever i did to my library on my iMac, dropbox would sync and when i opened rekordbox on my MacBook, it would be the same as what i'd just edited and updated in the studio.
Excellent, working fine, a little laggy but nothing really noticeable.
The only issue i faced was that the 'my tag' feature had disappeared. Annoying as its a really cool feature.
So I thought i'd try using the TDM method.
However after pointing everything to the where it should be, i managed to get my library, however without the analysis data and the 'my tag' feature disappeared on the iMac again. Also none of the updates appeared on the MacBook after closing and disconnecting
Is this all still in development ?
You're trying to do something really outside the box, and some of the problems you're experiencing are likely due to the database pointing to different paths.
My recommendation would be to use a database (and possibly also the music, if not sync'd by another method) on an external hard drive to move between computers.
