Are you on Windows or Mac?
I am on Windows and got a PIONEER\MASTER Folder which is Holding the datafile.edb and the 3 datafile.backup files.
If you have done a backup of your DB you could restore from the backup.
Hello everyone,
i had some issues for some reasons and without thinking i transferred the master database into the disk on key.
with some more issues on my disk on key i decided to format it..
what i did'nt know is that all my playlists will be gone with that..
trying to find some back-up or the master database location on my hard drive
is it gone forever? moving it is deleteing the old location with no back-up?
thanks ahead !!

where is it supposed to be located?
I moved the Master Database to drive D:\Pioneer\Master on my PC. Inside this Folder there is another Pioneer\Artwork and Pioneer\USBANLZ Folder.
The Standard Location (In Windows) if you haven't changed it would be in:
C:\User\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Pioneer\rekordbox\
Hope you will find your DB.
If you MOVED the database and then deleted it, the only possible solutions would be to recover from a backup or to use a file recovery to rebuild from the raw data (as when a file is deleted, it's not truly "deleted" until that section of the drive is used again for other data; the entry in the file allocation table is simply removed).
seems like it's gone
under what file name i should look for if i try file recovery?
Why would it keep a copy at the old location?
well, maybe just suggest a back-up in that action in an update:) because sometimes in a chain of actions the thing that happened to me can happen(wasn't fully aware to be honest)
under what name should i search in file recovery ?
I'll point out that you actually moved the backups as well when you did that, and it's wise to keep a backup on another source, especially before doing anything that might compromise your database. :p
Depending on the kind of backup you're running, if you can recover the entire PIONEER folder, that's a good start - but if that's not possible or it's already partially overwritten, try looking for anything *.edb
When internal, the database is named datafile.edb, but when external, it may be named master.edb.
Great :) working on it. will give an update
thank you guys
