It must play for a minimum of 1 minute in order to change to "played."
Hi.
When I play tracks from a playlist on a USB drive on my DDJ RX it doesn`t show the track as having been played after. The color doesn`t change and the play count stays at zero. The "mark played tracks" option is checked.
I tried both the latest official release of recordbox and the latest beta.
If anyone has an idea/solution that would be pretty great.

Thanks for your reply, but even when playing songs from start to finish the track looks "unplayed" as soon as I load the next track in. Only tracks currently loaded show up in a different color. Play count stays at 0 for all of them.
In addition/things I tried:
I used to have my library on a portable HDD so I could move it between my pc and my laptop. Since i wouldn`t now need my whole library on the laptop anymore if this USB thing worked I relocated the library on the laptop to the main C: drive. I deleted all playlists and the whole collection from recordbox on the laptop. Didn`t help, unfortunately.
I don't know if a total reinstall could help but I`d rather try less harsh solutions first, if possible :)
Due to the fact that the "dj play count" or whatever its called always stays at 0 for every track I would assume that something doesnt register right between the USB playist and the main playlist/collection/database/idk but that`s just me guessing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I think if you're playing them from the USB drive as the source, there's a chance it's not marking them as played or increasing the count because those songs are not "in your collection" (even if they originated there).
Aw, I hoped it would work just like plugging a usb stick into a cd deck :( could you maybe make it work like that? As an option at least? I really don`t care about a library on my laptop, I only use it as an interface for my ddj.
I have no clue about programming or whatever, but imo it would be pretty great if i could have the same basic functionality I have when playing out on cdjs also at my home running a ddj setup. :)
How are you putting the tracks on the USB? Are you not preparing them in rekordbox somehow before loading them?
What I do:
I`m exporting a playlist from my main pc to the USB drive through Recordbox, then plug that into my Laptop to which my DDJ RX is connected. The playlist shows up fine, all the cue points etc. are there.
I looked through the export settings but couldn`t find anything that could/should cause a problem here.
Because the play source is the external drive, it can't save them to the local history, so no - they're not marked as played. Sorry.
That`s a bummer and quite frankly I don`t understand why. Just add an "act like a cdj" option to recordbox, so there`s no main playlist/database involved. Or even make it a seperate program and call it "recordbox lite" or something.
Please :3
That would be called "Export mode."
So I tried "export mode"... Ignoring the fact the the whole Interface looks totally different my DDJ-RX doesn`t work as a controller there. I can`t even scroll between tracks/folders.
I`ll try a fresh install and if that doesn`t work I guess I´ll live with the fact that i need to import the playlist from my USB stick first. It`s not the end of the world after all, just a wierd annoyance.
