HHD doesn't really work with CDJ 850

Hi there,

I have read a lot of posts and messages about HHDs problems with Cdjs 850 but my case is a little bit weird....

I bought  two Maxtor M3 portable 1to 2 months ago

All worked perfectly and I sadly lost one in a party.

I was satisfied by the maxtor and decided to buy 2 more (1 to replace the lost one and another to be able to make time machine back-up).

When I put the new one in the CDJ, a message "usb error" appeared. Even the error message I could enter the folder and played some tracks. I said "SOME" because some, well a lot of folders are "EMPTY" according to the CDJs....

(I switched off and switched on : some "EMPTY" folders were not anymore empty while other turned into EMPTY folders...)

I tried with the second new one and got the same problem.

What is very surprising is that the hhd I bought 2 months ago worked perfectly (same brand and same model).

I formated both hhd in FAT32, updated them with the last drivers, installed the last CDJ 850 firmware, tried on rekordbox with the last updated version (message error E 83 - 06)...

I do not what to do anymore... Please if someone can help me :)

Cheers,

Lucas.

Are you exporting the music to the drive through rekordbox or are you just copying music to it from the Explorer?

I copied music from the explorer (as I did everytime). Seeing that it didn't perfectly work, I tried through Rekordbox (last updated version) and the message error E 83 - 06 appeared for the whole music.

Copying from Explorer won't transfer the track data; please use rekordbox to export in order to have the full experience on your CDJ.
