Triggering tracks to start playing from their hot cues with DDJ-SP1 with Rekordbox?

I heard you can't start a track going via the buttons with the DDJ-SP1 in a review but that sounds wrong.

Once a track is loaded into a deck and I have a hot cue prepared at the start, can I press the pad and bang, it starts (and loops).

Same for samples, starting and looping.
