A note on DDJ-RX pitch accuracy
I've seen a few posts on here about the pitch accuracy of the DDJ-RX, and I was curious myself as it sometimes felt like it was hard to get a spot on beatmatch.
I've not got a conclusive answer (I don't use Rekordbox, I use Algoirddim Djay at the minute and it doesn't show the pitch with enough accuracy to tell what is going on), but I can confirm that the DDJ-RX is sending out 10-bit MIDI for the pitch fader, which gives enough accuracy for 1024 steps, which at e.g. 8% is less than 0.01%, so the fader should be perfectly fine for beatmatching.
It's up to the software whether it handles the 10-bit messages correctly - if it doesn't support 10/14-bit MIDI, it will just have 7-bit accuracy (128 steps).
I thought this might be useful to some as it implies to me that if there is a problem, it's in the software and not the firmware end!
Cheers
