Due to the way Rekordbox is programmed it doesn't save the ID3 info you update to the file but to the Rekordbox database.
So essentially you need to do your ID3 updating outside of Rekordbox if you want updates visible in all software application
Hello,
I got all my music sorted out with genre, rating, key, etc. in Rekordbox. I managed to copy my Rekordbox playlists manually to iTunes, so they were the same as my Rekordbox playlists. Copying playlists from Rekordbox to iTunes did not copy track info to iTunes. Last week I tried out the function to sync with iTunes automatically and it went horrible wrong. Track info of my tracks in Rekordbox got overwritten with the iTunes info (genre, rating, playlist). The playlists stayed the same, because I already did this manually, but the rating and genres in Rekordbox got overwritten with the iTunes data were I didn't manage that track info.
I solved the problem with a few hours of browsing the internet, copying data from my usb to Rekordbox on another Mac and manually putting genre info back in bulk. I found out that in Rekordbox 5 you can copy info from usb to Mac (very thankful for that update).
Now I would like to know if I can sync genres, key and rating from Rekordbox to iTunes? If I manage to do that, from then on I would like to manage track info (with exception from que points/memory points) in iTunes and syncing that with Rekordbox, so both iTunes and Rekordbox are fully managed.
Possible? If not it's not worth the effort to do it manually, except if someone can tell me a quick way to copy this info in bulk.
Thanks in advance.
Greetings Anne

If you want to recreate your folder/playlist structure from Rekordbox in iTunes you can use this https://sellfy.com/p/emUY/
Like mentioned before RB does not write all the iD3 data back to the file. I always recommend using iTunes for collection management (make sure 'Copy files to the iTunes Media folder when adding to library' and 'keep iTunes Media organized' are both DISABLED in the iTunes preferences) I explain the why's in this video https://youtu.be/q5aob6ToRco at time index 6:18
And finally if you want to see what my workflow looks like have a look here:
that last video contains tons of info about RB, the sync manager iTunes and the like
