BPM Aaarghhh!!!

Can anyone tell me why when you have 2 tracks mixed after you mix one and switch to either deck you cant just change the BPM?

I seem to have to move the pitch fader up or down until it levels out to the original BPM and then i can change it

While doing this often the BPM range changes to WIDE as well which is even more annoying as I have to then manually change this with the mouse?

Please help this is driving me insane.

TIA Bart

You can - provided you match the pitch position.

Let's say deck 1 is a track at 128BPM and deck 2 is a track at 120BPM. Both hardware pitch faders are at 0%, but you're playing deck 1 and use the SYNC to match deck 2.

Deck 2 now has a software pitch of 6.67% (rounded), but the hardware is at the 0% position. Once it becomes the master deck you can't adjust the pitch until you've moved the hardware fader to match the software fader position. This is known as a "software pick-up."

In Serato's operation, you can move the fader at any time and the fader position and movement is relative, but in rekordbox, the fader is absolute, and you must move the hardware to match the software first.

You will get the hang of it eventually. ;)

Serato is better ,it catches up to the beat much quicker and easier, it is even better when you play old school with tempo that moves up and down. I wonder why rekordbox cant implement the same like Serato does, or maybe Rekorbox don't have the algo to this if they do then why don't you give it as an option for users.  I bet you Serato users will love your software if you can do the same and migration to rekordbox will not be anymore just a second option.

And a Traktor user will say Traktor is better.

To each their own.

what i is inside the wheel is the + or - signs, i slowly click the bpm in the direction i want. or closer to its original bpm. you dont want to make a dramatic bpm change anyhow (imo) i normally dont mix songs more than 5-6 bpm apart. i try to slowly climb up or climb down when doing dramatic bpm changes.

I agree that  Serato 's tempo beat matching is far better, a lot far better, I own ddj-sx2 as well as ddj1000 . With ddj1000 on recordbox beat matching is not as cool like Serato does, it adjust the grids but not moving the speed almost instant as you speed up or down, you will either have to push or pull the platter to catch up.  I find it difficult on old school music most especially.

With Serato you feel like you are beat matching almost the same that you do with Technics 1200 using the tempo slider primarily.

** Rekordbox  no offence but take this as constructive criticism.

My wish is for rekordbox to do the same  tempo matching  like Serato in the next updates.
