Spent about 4 hours yesterday with Rekordbox Lighting Mode and found a bunch of more bugs while I was trying to set up some light shows in Macro Editor.
1. in Macro editing, erasing a pattern for a moving head (right click, then delete) actually takes away the dimmer controls for the whole song. To get the movers lit up again, you need to change the mood to something else and then back again.
2. On certain tracks, when loading macro editor, dimmer curves are completely missing and can't create them. Lights behave as if dimmer curves are present, however.
3. In macro editor, if you move the phrase the associated DMX data doesn't move with it. For example, phrase analysis missed the chorus by 4 beats. If I manually move this in macro editor, it doesn't move the dmx patterns. So to move it, I need to switch to performance mode, then move the phrase then enter lighting mode (and have it populate the DMX database for 15 secondS) then go back to macro editor and now it's lined up correctly!
4. Standard OS level shortcuts for copy/cut/paste/delete don't work! Makes it tedious to say copy a dimmer chase to multiple pars.
5. Inability to select multiple lighting fixtures in macro editor mode. Eg. If I want to do a color change on multiple fixtures, I can't CTRL-click or SHIFT-click I need to change them one at a time.
6. In the Macro Mapping Mode, how can we decide what macros to use if we can't auditon them first? Clicking one of the dozens of lighting macros should do a real-time preview with the lighting fixtures so we can see what fits best.
7. In Macro Mapping mode, should be an easy way to copy a built-in scene to a user scene so we can modify it as we please. Some of them are quite good but would love to modify if rather than create one from scratch.
That's it for now but will keep posting as I come across more issues.
This gives me flashbacks to when Rekordbox DJ was released and i submitted close to 20 bugs and happy to say all were fixed. I have a lot of hope for this product and see it as a game changer if usability is addressed as well as these and other reported bugs. Thanks
